The Chronicles of Sancratosia is a book written in French by Cloe de Sancratosia relating the formation and history of Sancratosia, as well as to elements of her personal life as Sovereign Princess. The chronicles are undated and the separation of the chronicles in chapters are editorial choices. Huge gaps are also present with no entries seemingly appearing between March and September, although it is impossible to verify due to the undated nature of the Chronicles.

On the emergence

The brainstorm about the official formation of Sancratosia happens between the 16 and 21 October 2021 in Montréal, Canada. Even if Sancratosia has established it online presence on 21 October 2021, the official declaration of independence will have to wait for a few days. 21 October 2021 will be known as the Day of Emergence.

The name of Sancratosia

σαν κράτος "san kratos' from the Greek for "like a state" with the -ia suffix to signify a state, etymologically similar to the ancient classical states of the Mediterranean.

The website and other elements

After having tried a registration under a commercial internet domain, the registration of the domain : sancratosia.org is official on 23 October 2021. The website will be created shortly. The Flag and the Emblem should be official.[1] An order will be placed shortly and the reception of the order will constitute the official Day of the Flag.

On the Constitution

The person in charge of the Constitution and of the State will be the sovereign. She will have mainly a ceremonial role and will represent the State in the world.

After a long brainstorm, it has been determined that Sancratosia will have an heraldic system.

Lusophone constitutions

It was not easy to determine a good basis for the Constitution. After juggling with the constituions of other constitutional monarchies like Monaco, Canada or Andorra, it has been determined that a lusophone constitution would be the most adaptable. Once again, the choice was hard, between the one of Mozambique, of Angola and of Portugal, however, it was agreed to adapt the Constitution of Cabo Verde. The redaction was then started on 1 November 2021.

Royal constitutions

Even though it looked like I had a good decision, the decision to proceed with a semi-presidential constitution does not fulfill the needs for the basis of a monarchy to the Constitution of Sancratosia. Other constitutions are thus looked at, corresponding more closely to the profile needed. Among the constitutions analyzed, we should note the ones of the West Indies, of the July Monarchy (Charter of 1830) and the constitutions of Royal Portugal (Constitutional Charter of 1826), to name only these. They remain, however, rather ancient constitutions that do not reflect the modernity that is demanded. But, to this regard, the constitution of Andorra would respond to this. To be followed upon, the discussions and the reading left does not allow for a decision actually, if not that the need to proceed with the writing of a completely original constitution should be the way to go.

Constitution of Luxembourg

In the will to found a State based on the primacy of its constitutional document, at the condition, of course, of finding the right constitutional basis to succeed. In the will to ensure, also, a continuity of the State by the Sovereign, I had to give ourselves a constitution that could allow such a role and structure. Faced with the few constitutions of constitutional monarchies, it was difficult to find the perfectly adaptable Constitution. Luckily, it is possible that the Constitution of Luxembourg presents all the characteristics corresponding with my aspirations.

After days of brainstorming and of back-and-forth, of doubts and questioning, it was determined to write the Constitution directly without copying a text. Strongly inspired, it will take its model on the Constitutions of lusophone countries, while incorporating parts, relative to constitutions monarchies, from the Constitution of Luxembourg. The first draft was started on 13 November in Lingua Franca Nova.

Constitute Project

The bad reflex to copy directly being too much present, there is a pressing need to find another solution. Going with the Constitute Project[2] and its comparative functionality could allow for taking some inspiration and prevent a direct copying. It is to be seen, for the moment, the draft has been halted.

Constitution of Monaco

The search for a constitutional model continues with the elaboration of the large governmental structure. In this regard, the Constitution of Monaco seems to have all the attributes that would allow for a better structure.

On the Principality

What I envisioned as the Constitutional State of Sancratosia could very well be a principality, reflecting more on its type of government.

The way of the principality is officially adopted on 24 November 2021 by the acquisition of the first jewels of the Crown. The heraldry is also refined to give a more regal sense to the nation.

On the symbols

The National flag was drawn on 24 November 2021. The Coat of arms is officially completed on 30 November 2021.

The official motto is also decided on 30 November 2021 under the sentence "Monarcia bonvolente" or, in English, "Benevolent monarchy".

On the independence

A declaration of independence was written and should be ready for a release on 1 December, which will be declared as the Day of Independence.

A little bit more than a week has passed since the Declaration of independence. Everything is going well. Medals are expensive, the project is delayed until further notice. We think we have all the vendors for the passports and the stamps. MicroFlag not seeming in operations anymore, I believe I found his vendor. I should be able to obtain passports, visa stamps and identity cards before January.

Creation is doing good, the first edition of the Jornal de Sancratosia will soon be published. The flags, the identity cards, the sashes and stamps have been ordered. The only thing left are the passports!

On the territory

One precision was brought on the territorial claims. The Principality is found in a situation of extraterritoriality because it does not exercise a control on a territory that does not exist at the moment. It is not recognized by macronational governments.

On citizens

Since the launch of our citizenship process, we have received two applications. Even though one of them might not have the qualities required to become a national, the other has the potential, I believe, to help Sancratosia.

The Minister of State

We have nominated Cristian Neuton has Minister of State. We hope that he will help in the development of Sancratosia.

With Cristian we have agreed to give the Principality its own ceremonial guard. With the same purpose has the Carabiniers du Prince or the Swiss Guard of Vatican.

The first medal

On the attribution of the C. George Boeree medal, Cristian Neuton is, of course, a good candidate because of his work on Verdissian.

On the Discord

As we are launching today our Discord, the Principality is doing good. We have good relations with many nations, notably the Principality of Sildavia, a Brazilian micronation with which, we hope many collaborations, notably their support in our inclusion within the Conference of Santiago. The adoption of elefen has official language makes the relations with nations of romance language easier.

On the first meeting

After many intense weeks, notably the unveiling of new portrait (magnificent if I may add), I had my first meeting with another micronationalist! On 19 March 2022, meeting with Dominic Desaintes, Minister-President of Saint-Castin, established micronation and founding member of the OMF. It was a nice meeting, I hope that it marks the beginning of a great friendship between our two micronations!

On the development

When last month we were in Las Vegas for MicroCon 2022, we consider that the development of Sancratosia is continuing.

The hurdles

We are disappointed that we have delays in the production of citizenship documents.[3] But, these problems will be resolved soon, of that I am certain. The most difficult is to juggle with the fact that many people around me don't know about the fact that I am a micronationalist. Which makes scheduling very difficult.
