WORLD MICRONATIONAL CHESS FEDERATION

ORDNANCE 001: REGARDING THE CURRENT WORLD CHAMPION

Preamble

1.    The World Micronational Chess Federation (hereafter the WMCF) is the international organisation responsible for the regulation and governance of micronational chess.

2.    For this purpose, the WMCF is responsible for determining the identity of the current micronational world chess champion.

Most recent chess champion

1.    The WMCF recognises the most recent world chess championship to be the 2013 Micronational World Chess Championship conducted by the now-defunct Inter-Micronational Chess Federation (hereafter the IMCF).

2.    Rigas Papadopoulos of St.Charlie was crowned the World Champion of chess at that event.

Current world champion

1.    The WMCF acknowledges that, between December 2013 and December 2014, the world chess champion in the MicroWiki sector and micronationalism generally was Rigas Papadopoulos of St.Charlie.

2.    Because the IMCF failed to conduct a 2014 World Chess Championship – or at least, no public documentation exists that such a championship was conducted – the WMCF determines that no world chess champion was selected for the period 2014-2015, and as a result:

a.    Mr Papadopoulos’ term as world chess champion concluded;

b.    The position of world chess champion was vacated.

3.    In the absence of any international chess authority between December 2014 and today, the WMCF determines that the position of world chess champion experienced a vacancy between those dates and that no world chess champion currently exists.

Resolution

1.    The WMCF intends, at earliest convenience, to conduct an emergency world chess championship to resolve the vacancy in the position of world chess champion.

2.    In any event, the WMCF will endeavour to host this championship before the conclusion of 2023, so that a champion will exist for the 2023-2024 chess season.

3.    The rules, regulations, and registration requirements for that championship will be announced when they are available.
