State Opening of Council, VIII Legislature

To the most honourable gathered representatives, and to all who may hear this, greetings. It is with great pleasure that Our Imperial Majesty hereby declares that the term of the Eighth Legislature of the Ruling Council has officially begun, and shall last from now until June 2020.
In this Council assembled, the four Provinces of the Empire of Adammia are represented by means of their landed noble and their elected Councilor; furthermore, our Colonies far from this chamber are represented by their delegate. These nine representatives who form the Council during its Eighth Legislature are as follows: present on behalf of the Province of Greater Tytannia are the Duchess of Greater Tytannia, Her Grace Lady Sophie Thornton, and the Councilor of Greater Tytannia, Our Imperial Majesty; on behalf of the Province of Serkatia are the Duke of Serkatia, His Grace Lord Sam Maude, and the Councilor of Serkatia, His Grace Lord Alexander Helliker; on behalf of the Province of Metchlia are the Duke of Metchlia, His Grace Lord Billy Thompson, and the Councilor of Metchlia, Lady Hermione Peace; on behalf of the Province of Corellia are the Duchess of Corellia, Her Grace Lady Lucy Griffiths, and the Councilor of Corellia, Bhavina Mistry; and on behalf of the Colonies is Lord Charles Michael.
As dictated to us by our most venerated fundamental law, the Supreme Directive, this legislature oversees an executive government led by a Prime Minister nominated by the lower chamber of this Parliament, the House of Citizens. The House expressed its confidence in Lord Charles Michael by seven votes to four. I am pleased to confirm to the Council that the Crown accepted the House's nomination on the 10th of October and that Lord Michael has accordingly taken office as Adammia's sixth Prime Minister. The composition of the Cabinet which will run the executive Imperial Government during this term is as follows: the Prime Minister shall be Lord Charles Michael; the Deputy Prime Minister shall be Lady Hermione Peace; the Minister of Finance shall be Lord Charles Michael; the Minister of Foreign Affairs shall be Our Imperial Majesty; the Minister of Defence shall be Lord Oscar Gilmour; the Minister of Citizenship and Information shall be Lady Sophie Thornton; the Minister of National Development shall be Lord Oscar Gilmour; and the Minister of Memes shall be Lady Hermione Peace.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a particularly significant State Opening as it begins the first term of the Ruling Council which is not a unicameral legislature for the Empire; instead, it is now one chamber of a bicameral Parliament. This is certain to have consequences for the role this Council plays in national politics. It is my hope that the Council will continue to represent the provinces through mutual respect for and collaboration with the Crown and the House of Citizens. After all, these provinces are the only places where Adammic law is implemented in full, and we must be wary of accepting a state of affairs where decisions are made affecting these provinces by people who do not live in these provinces and are, as such, not affected by those decisions.
