17th August 2014, Province of Tytannia

Greetings, gathered representatives, and welcome to Council. Please stand for the National Anthem of the Empire of Adammia. [Anthem plays]

Ave Regendum Concilium. As Monarch of the Empire of Adammia, Our Imperial Majesty Emperor Adam the First does hereby declare this, the 30th meeting of the Ruling Council effect, on today the 17th of August 2014.

It is with great pleasure that on this day, the Second Legislature of the Ruling Council is declared open for business with its first session. During this term, lasting from August 2014 until July 2015, our Council is comprised of the following: Representing the Province of Primoria, we have the Duke of Primoria, His Imperial Highness Prince Jake, and the elected Councilor, His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Daniel; Representing the Province of Maternia, we have the Duke of Maternia, His Grace Sir Paul McKenna, and the elected Councilor, Her Imperial Highness Emperor Mother Jayne; Representing the Province of Tytannia, we have the Duchess of Tytannia, Her Grace Winifred Hall, and the elected Councilor, His Grace Sir Reginald Hall; Representing the Province of Watertopia, we have the Duchess and elected Councilor of Watertopia, Her Grace Julie Foster; Representing the Province of Myway, we have the Duke of Myway, His Grace Christopher Hall, and the elected Councilor, Miss Debbie Shaw; Representing as Delegate of the Colonies of the Empire, we have Our Imperial Majesty Emperor Adam the First; and representing as Delegate of Abroad Citizens of the Empire, we have Lord Sir Andrew Hall.

Before we start, let us take a look at the executive, the National Government, led by the Cabinet and the Prime Minister. For those of you unaware, the Emperor Mother was re-elected last weekend, and so the current government is back for another term. Perhaps we should reflect on what that government achieved in their last term: The Ministry of Citizenship opened citizen applications in December, whilst the Ministry of Information created the empireofadammia.org.uk website, leading to a massive influx of new citizens; The Ministry of Culture and the Prime Minister herself organised the first Foundation Day celebrations in April, the largest gathering of Adammic citizens on record; the Ministry of Defence has overseen the consolidation of the armed forces as well as the creation of a Police Force in February; The Ministry of Finance successfully implemented the Contributions Scheme in September, giving the Treasury a stable source of income; The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has persued diplomatic relations with other states and helped Adammia to become a rising power within our immediate micronational community; The Ministry of Information, through the Institutes of History and Geography, has given us maps of some of the provinces as well as a detailed history of the year 2013; The Ministry of Infrastructure has created a detailed road network, a postcode system and a list of licensed YouTube broadcasters; and the Ministry of Science and Technology has begun our space program with the construction of a model rocket.

Now, representatives, let Council begin in earnest, and may this next year be as prosperous as the last.
