Enactment clause, short and long titles

Be it enacted by the Grand Forum of All Citizens, as follows—

Proposition 002-022, Orders and Medals Act 2020

An Act to establish a system of reward for great service in Our Serene Republic.

Section A: Orders

1. There are to be two Orders of Recognition in Our Serene Republic, the Order of the Torch and the Order of the Night Sky.
2. Membership of these Orders is granted by the Rector.
3. Membership of the Order of the Torch may only be granted to citizens of Our Serene Republic.
4. The Rector may name one member of each Order to be the Chief of that Order. Other members are to be known as Friends of that Order.
5. The Chief of the Order of the Torch may use the post-nominals COT, and Friends of the Order of the Torch may use the post-nominals FOT.
6. The Chief of the Order of the Night Sky may use the post-nominals CNS, and Friends of the Order of the Night Sky may use the post-nominals FNS.

Section B: Medals

1. There are to be two Medals of Recognition in Our Serene Republic, the Medal of the Republic and the Medal of Merit.
2. Medals are awarded by the Grand Forum of All Citizens by way of motion. The motion may also ask the Celestial Mint to create a physical medal.
3. The Medal of the Republic may only be awarded to citizens of Our Serene Republic.
4. Medals may be awarded as either Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medals.
