The former monetary union becomes a regional association in the process.
Author : Cloe de Sancratosia.
The Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union (LMCU) becomes larger and changes its vocation with the adhesion of the Principality of Sancratosia as its third member.
Founded on 6 February 2022, the union was led by the founding member states, the Principality of Beremagne and the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin and was established as the Laurentian Monetary Cooperative Union. This established a common currency, the « Piaster » which was adopted by the two states. This monetary union remains within the new convention of the organisation, as a chapter, with the option to opt-out of the newly established « Piaster Zone ». Sancratosia as stated that they wished to retain the Sancratosian impresa for the moment and not join the monetary zone.
The new form of the LMCU has a bigger scope than its predecessor, being a fully-fledged regional union where member states cooperate not only on monetary matters, but also on environment, communications, transportation and military, to name a few.
The St. Lawrence River region really lacked a regional union that is organized to the level of the LMCU. Joining this union will be beneficial for Sancratosia and will help foster collaboration and cooperation between the states in the region. We have strong ties already with Saint-Castin and we can’t wait to participate with Beremagne on our common projects. Also, participating in the writing of the Convention of Saint-Jacques, the newest charter of the union, has been so much fun and We can’t wait for the next opportunity to contribute!
