Greater Tytannia Edict 1

Be it enacted as follows:
- 1. There shall be a Greater Tytannia Constabulary, which shall consist of a force of officers, appointed by a chief constable who shall be appointed by this Local Council.
- 2. Officers of the Greater Tytannia Constabulary shall have the following responsibilities:
- a) To investigate crimes which may have been committed within the Province, both on their own initiative and following reports of crimes from residents of the Province;
- b) To collate evidence related to crimes and submit such evidence to the Attorney General of the Empire for further investigation and prosecution, in accordance with Imperial law;
- c) To take preventative measures to stop crime being committed within the Province, which may include apprehending individuals. Individuals may only be apprehended if:
- i. An officer has reasonable grounds to believe that they are in the act of committing a crime; or
- ii. An officer has reasonable grounds to believe that they are about to commit a crime.
- d) A person apprehended under subsection c) may only be apprehended for as long as is strictly necessary in order to prevent them from immediately committing a crime.
- 3. Any officer of the Greater Tytannia Constabulary commits an offence if they:
- a) Apprehend an individual without reasonable grounds outlined by Section 2 Subsection c);
- b) Apprehend an individual for longer than is strictly necessary contrary to Section 2 Subsection d);
- c) Uses unnecessary force in apprehending any individual.
- 4. No officer of the Greater Tytannia Constabulary shall hold any authority or responsibility outside of the territorial limits of the Province, and shall be personally liable for any offence caused outside of the Province, and shall not be protected by the Constabulary or the Local Council in the event of any such offences.
