13th April 2020, County of Maternia

To all citizens of the Empire, I extend my warmest greetings. Today, we mark seven years since the foundation of Adammia.

We find ourselves in very difficult times, and this year we have been forced to cancel our traditional Foundation Day celebrations for a second time. The state of emergency that this nation is now in is unprecedented in our history, and I understand that many citizens will be feeling anxious about the physical, mental and financial health of themselves, their family and friends. Indeed, the decision to cancel the Foundation Day celebrations was taken with the wellbeing of members of my family in mind.

An unexpected consequence of the coronavirus pandemic has been a surge of activity in the micronational world. We have seen many former micronationalists, including friends of Adammia, coming out of retirement as a way to pass the time during quarantine. However, this has coincided with a rise in tensions and scandal. Adammia, meanwhile, continues to lead the way in sensible, professional micronationalism within the MicroWiki community.

Whilst the situation has meant that we have had to suspend large parts of government, including the planned return of AISA's rocket program, it has also created opportunities to focus on other areas of our nation. The Ruling Council is now meeting online as I speak, and we will continue to work with all parties to improve the Empire's legislation.

We have been lucky so far that there are still zero reported cases of coronavirus in Adammia. It is important now that we continue social distancing until this crisis is over. Hopefully, Adammia can emerge at the other side unscathed by this virus. So stay strong, stay safe, and I look forward to seeing many of you in-person once the lockdown is over. Until then, seek wisdom and honour, and long live the Empire. Thank you.
