The Code of Laws of the Grand Unified Micronational is the only repository of GUM legislation.

Passed legislation

Article 1

The Quorum decided that in accordance with article 11 of the Charter of the Grand Unified Micronational, the Code of Laws shall be the main document where legislation passed by the Quorum of Delegates or implemented by the Secretariat shall be deposited. The location of the Code of Laws shall be decided by the Secretariat. The Code of Laws shall be organised by sections relating to: General passed legislation, general failed legislation, motions relating to membership of states both passed and failed, and motions relating to appointments of officials both passed and failed. Article 2

The Quorum decided that the Secretariat of the Grand Unified Micronational is to be made of the following Departments, led by Secretaries in accordance with the provisions of the GUM Charter:

  • a) The Department of Security and Community Affairs, in charge of the organisation's stance in the micronational community, the uphold of peace among member and non-member states and related domains;
  • b) The Department of Media Affairs and Public Relations, in charge of the organisation's public relations and website and related domains;
  • c) The Department of Cultural Affairs and Micronational Education, in charge of the promotion of cultural, educational and social development, as well as educating new micronationalists and helping new micronations get on their feet, and related domains;
  • d) The Departments of Scientific Cooperation and Research, in charge of the organisation's coordination of micronational scientific research, in natural, human, social or any other kind of sciences, and related domains. (2 March 2014)

Article 3

The Quorum decided that a micronational entity has officially finished the ratification process of the GUM Charter when the document has been signed on the official depository wiki article of the Charter, or if they have notified the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman about its ratification. Article 4

The Quorum decided that national reports may be posted in the Lounge instead of the Quorum if Quorum consents. (23 March 2014)

Article 5

The Quorum decided that the Chairman of the Quorum of Delegates, the Vice-Chairman of the Quorum of Delegates, the President of the Justice Commission and the Secretaries of the GUM together form a formalised cabinet called the Staff and meet atleast every fornight in an own created venue, and that Delegates can ask the Chairman or the Vice-Chairman to give minutes of the last held meeting. Article 6

The Quorum decided that the President of the Justice Commission shall be responsible for the maintenance of the Code of Laws, though the Chairman also has permission to update it. (23 March 2014 / 9 November 2014)

Article 7

The Quorum decided that the Chairman of the Quorum of Delegates and the Secretary of Security and Community Affairs will work towards bringing the two micronational communities (Wiki and Wikia) closer together through improving the diplomatic relations between the two. (30 March 2014)

Article 8

The Quorum decided that the GUM Peacekeeper Award is created. The process of nomination and awarding shall go as follows:

  1. The GUM Peacekeeper is nominated by the GUM Staff & Wikia admin team;
  2. The GUM Quorum of Delegates votes on the nominations and decide if they are worthy or not;

The requirements of a person to be nominated are;

  1. Showing professional behavior;
  2. Promoting and being a peaceful micronationalist;
  3. Helpful towards all members and admins; (11 May 2014)

Article 9

The Quorum decided on the start and development of a project named the Codex Microgentes by His Imperial Majesty Arthur I, of the Wurtige Empire, and that when finished the Quorum shall vote on wether or not they shall keep/use/implement it. (18 May 2014)

Article 10

The Quorum decided on the creation of the GUM Library project as described here:

The GUM Library, if accepted, will be a digital resource for storing significant micronational documents, such as constitutions, charters, letters, papers, books, treaties, and legal codes. The GUM library is intended to be an easily navigable and up to date web service, preferably a searchable one where entries are tied to a database with attributes, such as author, country of origin, etc.

...and the creation of a venue on Skype to serve as its official center for development and policy-making. (15 June 2014)

Article 11

The Quorum decided that a special Quorum be convened at a date convenient to all delegates, or as many as possible, in order to review and amend the charter of the Grand Unified Micronational, with specific reference to Article 42 of the same, with the possibility of additional articles being added, so long as prior notification of such additions is made to quorum. Article 12

The Quorum decided that the Department of Media Affairs and Public Relations is authorised by Quorum to negotiate the transfer of control of the Micronational News Agency and the news.micronation.org page to the Department with the micronation.org administration. (20 July 2014)

Article 13

The Quorum decided that a Committee shall be set up by Quorum, to be entitled the Mock Trial Committee, which shall consist of five delegates, two of which (the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Quorum) shall be members ex officio and three of which shall be elected as soon as this motion passes. The Committee shall elect its own chairman, to preside over sessions of the Committee and report the work of the Committee to Quorum when Quorum convenes. (20 July 2014)

Article 14

The Quorum decided that a commitee is to be set up by Quorum, to be known as the Committee for the Drafting of a New Charter, which shall consist ex officio of the Supreme Judge, the Chairman and Vice-Chair of Quorum and two elected members. The Supreme Judge shall preside ex officio. (20 July 2014)

Article 15

The Quorum decided that the position of Junior Secretary is to be created for each department of the Secretariat; The Junior Secretary may carry out the work of their department and represent their department in Quorum if the main Secretary is absent; The appointment of a Junior Secretary is optional and is made by the main Secretary; Appointments are then confirmed by the Quorum by vote. Article 16

The Quorum deiced that a project, known as the GUM Biological Survey, is to be created, managed by the Department of Science and Research. The project shall involve the collection of information on the flora and fauna found within as many GUM member states as possible, to be compiled and published. (12 October 2014)

Article 17

The Quorum decided that www.grandunifiedmicronational.weebly.com is to become the official website of the Grand Unified Micronational. (12 October 2014)

Article 18

The Quorum decided that the Chairman and Secretariat of the GUM is to maintain a list of all active delegates and diplomatic staff within the venues of the GUM, which shall be made publicly available and shall be organised by headings for each member state. (9 November 2014)

1. Memberstates that havent attended Quorum two times in a row without a valid reason or notifying the Chairman of the absense before hand will be send a warning by the Chairman.
