An Act for the Establishment of a National Currency in the Aureus
Be it enacted by the Kings most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same as follows—
Preface
- This act shall be referred to as the “Aureus Act, 2023” (5 Jack. 1, c. 3)
- This act shall go into effect immediately upon signing by His Majesty, the King.
Terms
- The Aureus (plural: aurei, symbol: au) shall be the official currency of Kapreburg.
- The penny (plural: pence, symbol: p) shall be the subunit of the aureus, with one penny being worth one one-hundredth of an aureus.
- One aureus shall be pegged to the United States Dollar, at a ratio of 1:1.
- The Bank of Kapreburg shall have complete jurisdiction over the printing and distribution of the aureus.
- The Bank of Kapreburg must have a Treasurer appointed by the Prime Minister of Kapreburg, with the Treasurer serving for life, resignation, or removal by a majority vote in Parliament.
- The “Kapresh dollar” is from here on out a defunct currency.
- All banknotes and coins of the Kapresh dollar shall no longer be legal tender within the Empire of Kapreburg.
