Local Government Act 2020

An Act to provide for the local systems of government in Morgannwg.

SIÂN, drwy Ras Duw Brenhines Morgannwg, At Ein Ffyddlon ac anwylaf aelodau Senedd Morgannwg, Cyfarchion!
Gan ei fod wedi ei basio gan Senedd Morgannwg a chael cysyniad Ei Mawrhydi Awst, deddfir fel a ganlyn—

SIAN, by God’s Grace Queen of Morgannwg, To Our Trusty and well beloved the members of the Parliament of Morgannwg, Greeting!
Having been passed by the Parliament of Morgannwg and having received the assent of Her Most August Majesty, it is enacted as follows—

Article 1. Place names

  1. Place names in this Act are to be given in Welsh, with English names given in brackets. If the name is the same in both languages or only one version exists, then only one is given.

Article 2. Administrative divisions

  1. The Kingdom of Morgannwg is to have two types of administrative division:
    1. Siroedd (Counties);
    2. Dinasoedd (Cities).
  2. There are to be five cities:
    1. Caerdydd;
    2. Credyn (Creton);
    3. Dublaeth (Dublaith);
    4. Dwyrain Hywlraffau (East Halyards);
    5. Middleham.
  3. There are to be three counties;
    1. Sir Ddublaeth (Dublaithshire), containing the cities of Dublaeth and Dwyrain Hywlraffau, and all of their contiguous surrounding areas;
    2. Sir Gaerdydd (Caerdyddshire), containing the city of Caerdydd and its contiguous surrounding areas;
    3. Sir Gredyn (Cretonshire), containing the cities of Creton and Middleham, and all of their contiguous surrounding areas.

Article 3. Royal representation

  1. The Monarch may appoint representatives to each county. These representatives are to be known as:
    1. Arglwydd Raglaw (Welsh);
    2. Lord Lieutenant (English).
  2. The Arglwiddi Raglaw are to represent the Monarch’s interests in the counties and the cities within them.

Article 4. Coming into force

  1. This Act comes into force immediately following Royal Assent.
